Which 7.62x39?

Been going back and forth on another 7.62x39. I have a bullpup SKS, but want something different. I am currently looking at a side or underfolder AK-47, or a 10-12" AR Pistol upper. The isssues I see with the AK are that there are so many styles, countries of origin and companies that I have no idea what makes the $1500 one better than the $500 one. It also will be hard to mount a sight and a muzzle device. And I don't get the look.

The issue I see with the AR is that most don't run 100% right out of the box. But the ones I am looking at will be melonited, and have a pic rail and threaded muzzle.

Use will be range fun, and hunting within the limits of the caliber and bullet (SST or soft points).

100% right in an AR. Most Mfg have fixed their issues. I got a hardened arms upper, built a lower, got an *** superbolt and CPD mags...runs 100% and very much more accurate than an AK.

I am looking at the Hardened Arms melonite 10.5" and a Sota or Franklin Armory NIB BCG on a virgin lower with an SB-15. Might pick up the melonite gas tube and melonite adjustable gas block Tactical Ambush has if I want to go all "treatment"ed parts.

Since reading this forum last night I now want a .45ACP and a .22LR upper as well. My wife may ban me from this site if you guys don't stop posting your gun porn.

Frank, do your CPD mags load to full capacity? That was the issue I had with the CP mags when I had my 20" M1Sales upper.

yes sir ..well maybe 1 short...but WAIT, CPD just announced a new coating and the X39 mags are first.

Had a guy offer $$ to buy mine last night so not sure if I will own it for long. I was worried about gassing properly so went w the 16" and it is perfect.

Frank, you gotta quit selling stuff that I want. After your post and bragging about 1moa, I've wanted one even more.

Everyone stay away from the hardened arms 10.5" on gunbroker right now. It might be mine in 5 hours.

I decided against another x39 build, if I build another it will be a 6.8 10.5" barreled pistol.

I admit Im new to semi autos, however I like my Sig Sauer 556r. Had I seen the 556xi first I more then likely would have spent the extra cash for it.

Out of the box its been flawless. Its a gas piston upper like an AK, and a lower similar to an AR. It takes and shoots the cheap ammo without any problems other then loosing a good group. @ 75 yards I got a 1" group with 5 shots using a cheap gun vice, a 4x scope and hornady sst ammo. Other then two coons, I've yet to have a opportunity to shoot at a hog. At very least its a fun gun to plink with.

Franklin Armory makes so very nice rifles. I got my new M1 Garand Tanker this week have not had time to shoot in yet can' wait also have a Leuplod scout scope for it. When the FFL guy tells you that is one of the most beautiful M1 he has seen I was very happy now to see how it shoots.
