Where to start

Time to add a suppresser and I have no idea where to start.

Who in Houston can help with my trust ?

Do I need to buy the suppresser first and then, see about a trust?

I figured $1200-1300 for the suppresser so what other costs are involved ?

Better to buy local or ?

Trust is first thing you need. Good thing about being in Houston is Sean Cody. He did my trust over the phone and is great to work with.

Secondly, buy the silencer. Look no further than Silencer Shop. You can have them mail it to you or you can pick it up on the store in Austin.

Always buy a silencer that is IN STOCK. The genesis of many issues with NFA toys happens when you buy something not in stock. Reason being is the paper work. Your dealer may be getting it from a distributer and that distributer may need to get it from the manufacturer. That is two form 3s right there and 4 months worth of waiting before you can start your form 4 which takes 3/4 months.

Other costs involved are QD mounts if you are getting a QD silencer and of course Uncle Sam's little tax stamp ($200).

No worries. This is a great group of people.

I can Sean Cody www.TexasGuntrust.com 281.451.4175

No get the trust first. Makes life easier for that first impulse purchase. LOL

I figured $1200-1300 for the suppresser so what other costs are involved ?
The cost of the trust. The tax stamp.

Better to buy local or ?
Generally yes. But then you have Silencershop and they rock.

In Houston you have:
Class III Weapons
Black Gold Firearms
Primary Arms
W4 Outdoors
AMSS
Fountaine Firearms
The Arms Room
Battleground Firearms
Radical Firearms
Northwest Pawn
South Texas Tripod.

and that isn't all of the guys who I like to work with.

What part of Houston are you in?

If you want to stick to Houston Sean Cody.

I'm closer to Dallas so I went with Christopher Bass.

Just throwing another option out there. All the advice given above is spot on.

I live on the East side of Houston (Baytown Area).

Distance is not an issue for a good deal :).

I want to use a 30 cal on my 6.8, .308 and 5.56.

So what is the lightest suppresser at the best value ?

I also went with Sean Cody and Silencer Shop and was very pleased with both choices. The Omega is in stock at silencer shop and looks pretty good for the price $880.
