What currently is the best long range thermal scope used by infantry in the military right now?

Anybody know? How do you think they compare to our current crop of commercial units. I know the buffering and recoil protection is superior, but beyond that? Who has played with the latest and best.... Please tell us.

I'd go with the INOD Block III

Now apparently called the SPARTN

Sniper Precision Acquisition Rifle Thermal Night Sight (SPARTN) | Leonardo DRS

Current commercial units can't hold the match or the candle in comparison ...

So far just the "good guys" playing with them :)

Watch rabbits at 1200m ... see your own trace, etc.

The UTC-x supports up to 16x, but this sucker goes up to 20x ... and blows the UTC away ...

2 groups of 3 c123 each group, so you can hot swap the groups of 3 batts.

3.5lbs ... but you can train for that as they say.

BAE offers a model called sniper but did not win the contract. They did win a smaller contract to produce some thermal units that is made for long distance shooting (1000 yards).

BAE Systems begins production of new thermal sights

Their shorter range models is in testing and soon to be production:
