Using thermals in sunlight

I am going on a hog hunt with a friend and the land owner doesn't want us night hunting. Will my Pulsar XQ50 work in daylight well or do I need to put a cover extension it to block the sun light s I can see thru it?

It will work fine. Light conditions do not effect thermals like NV. As long as there is a difference in emitted heat from your target to the surroundings, the thermal will work. If you are hunting in high ambient temperatures, the contrast will not be as high as it would be in cooler ambient temperatures.

Just never look at the sun with it or let the sun shine directly on the objective when on. This will burn out the thermal sensor.

I have had numerous daylight kills with my thermals. The times I have the most problem are during the summer in the later evening when the vegetation and such heats up to being close to animal temperature, but this doesn't last very long, usually.
