So many Raccoons in this area they eat all the corn before the hogs come around and they set off the trap door everyday. Gets a bit frustrating after awhile.

Hmmm, not sure about that one. I did stop at a place called, "Possum Crepe, Arkansas" once and had some breakfast, that's a story for another time though. Lol

I am not kidding, I have had 2 Mexican guys this week ask me to keep them for them to eat. Even the hogs leave them to rot around here. I have tried raccoon meat that we boiled for the coon dogs and it was ok but not going to make a samich anytime soon.

We trapped and hunted fur bearers when I was younger and there was money in it. there was a market for the coon meat then in dfw. So someone was eating it.
Brings back memories; I wish I could get $25 each for them now like back then!

There is a meat market in Ferriday, LA that has a sign out front that says "fresh coons". I never stop to see if they really sell them or not, but considering the clientele, they probably sell pretty good. I did stop to take a picture of the sign once to show someone.

Trapped 3 for 3 again last night. I am done there for a while, too many coons and not enough hogs. Pulled my traps. I video'd it and decided to video the dispatch part, I remember why I don't do that. The 2nd one was screaming like a raving banshee, not good for public youtube comment section I suppose.

I don't blame you, no bounty on coons just wasting your time and $$

I was told when I moved to TX that if you're going to sell your coon meat on the roadside, you have to leave the feet attached so your buyer knows you're not trying to pass something else off as coon.

Can't imagine what would be the alternative meat.....
