Part of the agreement when my boss agreed to provide night vision and thermal to me to aid in feral hog abatement was that I would "guide" a few hunts to his associates and charities in California. Yes, I know the burdens of my employment seem excessive, but I try my best to endure them without complaint. Anyway Robby was my first victim, he is in Texas deer hunting and wanted to see how the equipment worked. We went out Tuesday night and hit several places with no results. Apparently I'm doing some good on the abatement. We finally found a lone boar with the the Pulsar hd19a monocular and I let him use the 6.8 and Pulsar XD38A scope to dispatch it. He was impressed to say the least. 20151125_003307.jpg Then we headed to another location, scanning properties on the way. Being able to scan from a moving vehicle with the hd19a is one of the things that has greatly improved my kill numbers. We spotted a large sounder in a wheat field, circled around and walked in on them. We dropped a couple and hit several more that ran onto the neighbors land. Just as we stopped shooting a pig squealed behind us and we turned to see another small sounder running our direction. We were luckily in their escape path and the shooting had them making a run for it. A quick mag change and we had dropped 5 of them. I returned the next day and removed them from the field and surveyed the damage they had done to the field. We spent the remainder of the late night/morning discussing reasons not to live in California over cold beverages of an adult nature. His wife is supposed to fly in after thanksgiving and I'll take her out to kill a few and then I'm pretty sure BRD /******************* will be shipping some pvs 14s and thermal devices to the West Coast.

Congrats on the hogs .... once you hunt them with thermal, it's hard to hunt them any other way

Way to go Lancer. You might have convinced him to leave CA in one night. Just make sure he knows to leave CA in CA.

he actually explained bullet buttons to me and all the other stupid regulations out there. It's pretty there but I'll always call Texas home.

I'll bet he has quite a story to tell his friends when he gets back home.
