Taco Sauce

....found this recipe over on one of the hot pepper forums I follow and this one sounds pretty tasty! If you don't have the hot pepper powders mentioned in the recipe you can substitute others suiting your taste.


8 ounce tomato sauce
1/4 cup water
1/4 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp red hatch powder
1/2 tsp Chimayo powder
1/4 tsp douglah powder
1.5 tsp cumin
I tbsp onion (processed in food processor)
1 tbsp vinegar
3/4 tsp garlic
salt to taste
1/4 tsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp lime juice

This is the basic recipe. Adjust chile powder and/or any other ingredients as you like. Mix well. Bring to simmer. Cook for approximately 30 minutes. Pack in sterlized jars. Process in boiling water bath for 35 minutes as you would do with other canning.
