After catching my calves I finally reset my trap on other side of the fence, the same lone hog came that has been here off and on for a couple weeks, but now he knows the place, MFDC6132.JPG MFDC6142.JPG I guess he was too smart to go in the trap that wasn't there before. Maybe he will get used to it and get trapped eventually.

I haven't been able to convince this little guy to go in a trap yet so I decided to experiment with different baits to see what he likes and doesn't like.
So, bananas are a no go, just for monkeys I suppose. He ate some apple but not all of it. Crimped corn mixed with some old corn bread mix and water he ate it up. Then I mixed some crimped corn and hot water with and old box of bread mix with a packet of yeast and threw in a box of cinnamon swirl muffin mix that expired a few years ago and he seemed to like that. I am running out of old stuff from the cupboard, may have to set up another trap soon. MFDC6373.JPG MFDC6346.JPG

Try sprinkling a pack of strawberry or cherry Jell-O in & around the trap. Nothing works miracles, but I've been lucky once or twice with that.

Why do you have those ancient sardines? lol
I have used so many things, now just having fun with new stuff while he is still hanging around. I even used some butternut squash last week but he didn't pay much attention to it. Still have never found anything better than corn and stuff mixed with corn.
