That was cool, our are free and go hunting for their own food, they are just the stacked boxes the bee man moves around 100 or more at a time.

Mine are free to forage also. Starting a new package like this one you need to supplement their feed for a while. They are now foraging for themselves.

That depends on the nectar flow, should have honey by fall.
I didn't wear it to install the bees. They are very docile at this point having nothing to protect. They get moody after they start building comb and building the colony.

I did paint it!! It is a very old style hive. The ancient Greeks used hives similar to this one but made from other materials. It is called a Kenya (as in Africa) top-bar hive, very simple design which allows us poor folk to raise bees.
