Was at shooting house/greenfield and at last light this Red Boar walk out to middle of field and starts grazing. Shot him with AR-10 using 165 grain Hornady SST. Put an anchor shot in him as he was doing the dirt dance. Happy New Year - Enjoy!

    Good job!
I shot one last night after a stalk in an open field before dark, 115 gr fusions not good to me, took off, never found him. Mad, I drive back to gate and see one in pasture, hit the head lights and stomp on the 7.3 dually, manage to run him over while shooting out the window with my 22 pistol, he gets into the woods. Dang. frustrated. 3 in my trap last night and didn't trip trigger. 2018 starting out with challenges. lol

I don't think he was dancing yet. I think he was trying to get up. Good job.

I agree. He deserved the second bullet.

That one was a fighter! Way to keep after it until the message was received.

I am most often impressed at how tough these critters are! They take a lick'en and keep on tick'en.
Impressed also with the Hornady 165 grain SST. I am on my last box of and have about 50 bullets left. Have a good supply of Sierra GameKing HPBT 165 grain on hand and going to give them a try next. Anyone have experience with that bullet?

I'm a big proponent of a second shot at the first sign of second life. Cool looking boar!

Out in the middle of a wide open field, if there's any wiggle, Im pretty quick on the trigger. If Im shooting from inside the wheeler, Im much braver.
