pulsar mount

Looking at the Pulsar XP50 and all the pictures and videos look like the quick detach mount is too far forward for a picatinny rail on a bolt action. Looks like the front claw mount is out on the rail on the handguard of the AR15 ive seen it mounted on. The mount looks very long and mounted far forward on the scope.
Question is will it fit on a standard short action picatinny rail on a 700 or a savage bolt action ? or will the scope be too far back

The mount can be set to about three different positions on the scope, but the total length may still be too long for a bolt action rail. The solution to that is the optional (at additional cost) pulsar qd mount which is much shorter and is also much better at holding zero.
