No luck friday night but...

I enjoyed a lot just being out there !!!

Not much pig activity and the wind was changing all the time.

I sat on a "quick release" hunting rack that I use on the back of my truck to have a better vision as the cornfield is high. I put the truck just a couple of corn lines inside the border to hide the truck and wait till night.

In front of my position you can see a dark green line that is a very big and thick river thornbush and in between there is a small plain where I was able to see the pigs coming to the corn.

To my left the moon was already up in the sky...

Later that night, without any pig moving in the area I went to sleep. I tied a mosquito net from a branch and put my cot under it. Nothing like sleeping under the stars !!! Much better than sleeping inside a tent. Y put my truck from where the wind was coming to protect myself from the wind that was a little bit chilly..

The previous night one of my friends shot a axis buck in the soybean field.

I will go out next friday...lets see if I am able to connect a good boar !!

Is in Uruguay. The stars are beatiful down here. My favourites are Las Tres Marías (the Three Marys), which are the belt of Orion, the hunter costelation (sp?) they are VERY bright and while hunting is always nice to look up ans see them there. They bring fine memories from my chilhood, when as a kid I follow my bigger cousins out at night during the full moons to chase armadillos with the dogs.
