Need your input about a thermel scope please.....

Ive got a hunting buddy that's getting ready to buy a thermal scope and has been looking at a SPI Corp T14X .

Whats your input on this model?

I read the snipershide thread on it and they are mean over there, still no real answers and the recorded content is terrible...it is real? is it in stock? $3995 price is only $1000 or less you can buy the standard Armasight and others after the start selling the proline or newer model thermals. I do like the DVR included as part of the scope but it is just something else to go wrong. Service after the sale? warranty? I have no dog in the hunt just comments from someone looking.

Simply put, this is a repackaged/rebranded night optics TM-X

It's a 160 core and a 25mm 1X lens. It is only rated to .223/5.56.

You can get a Zeus for virtually the same price, FLIR Tau 2 core, 160x120, 25 micron, 42mm lens, for just $100 more and it will handle a .308 (Amazon price, vendors here may do you better).

However, that is still a LOW level thermal scope, but much better than the X14.

I agree, but if its amazon price, with optics planet, plan on waiting 2 months are longer, I cancelled after 1 month after promised date, they kept extending the date

LOL, I think you are missing the point, entirely. Nothing involved Optics Planet. The point is that a better product can be had for comparable money...

Worth the wait.... I've been waiting a while myself. If all goes as planned I'll be back in business by next Friday. I've used ATN, FLIR and ARMASIGHT...going with Armasight. For the money you get more features, quality and warranty.
