Now that I'm moving back to Texas thought I'd join the thermal party. Contacted Brian who pointed me to ******** at Third Coastal Thermal. Settled on the Pulsar Apex 50a. Here piggy, piggy, piggy. Time to get schooled. This Wolverines ready to bite!

Headed out tomorrow to work on some load development using normal glass.
Once I find a load I like I am gonna develop a batch then head to the range and test how far I can hit steel using normal glass out to 1000 yards.

Then I will attach thermal permanently. I've got a dozen large stick on hand/body warmers. Gonna stick it on steel out 300-1000 yards to see how far it will pick up during the day. May even attempt to shoot. I should have a recording unit by then so I'll take you along the ride.

Congrats! Try a small ziploc bag of an ice cube or two with it set on white hot for summer target practice. It works great until you blast the cube.

Pulsar 50-a is a 2x native optic - 400 yards max with digi zoom.

Wolverine is a 5.56 case with a 277 bullet, max range has to be 4-500 yards.

If I where to guess I'd say holdover at 500 yards would be 28" and 7 feet for a 1000 yards.

Too long for that animal...

Max hunting range is 170 yards for one bullet and 190 yards for another bullet to keep my 2000fps velocity and 1000ftlb of KE at point of impact.
The 3 places I hunt most shots will be between 70-90 yards.
Longer ranges is just for fun.
