I'm interested in hearing your tale of things you've witnessed, which you have no explanation for. Camping, hunting, fishing, driving along... have a tale? Share it.

Mine... About 10 years ago, I went on a weekend camping trip with a friend of mine. He's an avid fly fisherman, and our plan was to drown some flies and see what we could conjure up from beneath the surface of the river. We were east of Seattle, in the Cascade Mountains, in the Snoqualmie National Forest. We'd found a quiet camp ground, which had only a few campers (off season). We set up camp, had our dinner, and night was falling. There were no clouds, only a light breeze, no bugs, and cool enough to have a hoodie on. Perfect weather.

Later in the early evening, we noticed an orb of light, clearly visible between the tops of two trees. It was not the moon (that was elsewhere in the sky). Again, we were in the forest, there were no light poles. The light was no "distant star". And, it remained stationary. Hours later, it had not moved in the sky (at all). This was no satellite, no star. There was no explanation for what we were seeing. It remained stationary between the same two tree tops, for hours... the next night, it was not there. There were no odd tales for us to attach to this (abductions, etc.), just a large orb of light which was smaller in size (to the naked eye) than the moon. It was much larger than how stars appear to the naked eye, and hung in place as though it were a light mounted on a pole. No strange sounds, just the sounds of the forest.

The camping trip was most pleasant, we ate fresh fish for dinner, and remained curious over what we'd witnessed in the sky.

What has left you wondering what you've seen, or wary of telling?

Two things I have no explanation for...1) Why is it that my stomach always decides th at it is time for #2 when I just get comfortable in my hunting spot? 2) Why dooes the darn wind always have to shift to my back every time I'm hunting? I swear my Indian name is "Hunts Downwind".

Sorry if off topic. I'm sittting here waiting on my daywalker hogs fighting the urge to poop with the wind at my back again...

Easy... turn the other direction, so the wind is at your face, and that urge to poop will become an urge to pee. (Geez, do I have to think of everything around here? LOL)

Don’t guess I’ve seen anything really strange but at the far back of my place, way back in the heavy woods where I have a good bait spot, I’ve heard “tree knocking” on several occasions. I’ve killed a couple of hogs back there that I drug off to a dump location and the 2nd day after the kill they were gone. I know they were dead. And when I checked where I dumped them, no blood, body parts, drag marks, nothing. Just gone. A little weird I thought.

I don’t know what happened to the hogs. As I remember they were both pretty good boars. Maybe 160-190 lbs. I asked a neighbor what he thought ( he’s lived within 2 miles of my place all of his life) he just said I might not want to know.

Go back and talk to him some more. Coax him to elaborate... remain non-judgemental on what he may have to say on the matter. He might surprise you with a tale you never expected to hear.

This all took place maybe a year and a half ago. I talked to him again maybe a month after this happened. He and his wife both had interesting stories. “ Tales of the Woods “
