Hello from South Dakota

Hello all,
I finally moved out of the city onto 46 acres on the high plains of South Dakota.
I'm wanting to be able to shoot at night; varmint control.
I found your forums while googling this and that about thermals.
I've read a couple threads and found them very informative, which is why I signed up.

What I think I want:
Thermal scope, reliable at 200yds +
Will mount on a dedicated AR-15.
Was hoping to spend in the low $2k range, but as i'm reading reviews it seems like $3k to 5k range is more realistic.

Welcome, I lived up around Waubay South Dakota growing up as kid. I try to get back there as much as I can.

Welcome
200 yards is very doable for I would guess 99% thermals (echo?).
It's a learning curve to shoot with Thermal but once you give it a go you'll love it. Your budget is well within range of what you are wanting to accomplish.
