First of 2019?

Slim Shady hosted me for this thick boy who had been showing up on camera.

Nine months out of the year, he is awash in hogs what with them corn fields, pecan groves and broken irrigation pipes.

But they’ve been scarce lately and he was kind enough to let me take a whack at a potential banner hog. He came in shy at 43” / 230 lbs. but swallowed up two good rounds on the move. (My initial .270 130grain ballistic and Slim’s 6.8 follow up). Went about 75 yards into a light thicket before receiving his existential discharge.

Shot him about 8:30 central time. Whether he is the first of the year or not, it breaks a long dry spell for me and I’m grateful.

Congrats on a fine hog. And, tell Slim to quit being a stranger, just be strange.

Nice hog! Looks like he has some good “toofs “ on him! Way to break the dry spell. I’m having a hog drought too.
