After shooter gave me a box of Alexander Arms 6.5 Grendel Hornady SST 129 gr. ammo to test, I have had a heck of a time recovering one of the bullets. They fly right through on broadside shots, seemingly without regard for what they hit, but seem to be expanding along the way. I had one lengthwise shot, but the bullet ended up in the gut and I wasn't going to dig around bowel contents to find it. So I finally made a shot from the other direction, starting behind the ribs and having the bullet stop in the opposite side shoulder after 22+" of penetration and passing through 1 rib.
The hog didn't go right down and I attempted to shoot it again with a Speer TNT 90 gr. bullet, but this shot was unnecessary as the hog was going down by the time I fired. Still, the bullet did well, breaking both femora.
