Centeral Texas Empty Feeder Pens

All year I have lacked deer activity at mine and most of the other hunters on our lease in Llano. The only activity I have seen is pigs and they have been hit or miss this year. Anyone else having the same issue.

I have a friend who went to his friends lease in Llano and said he watched deer walk by all day. This place has been under a strict management plan for years though. Maybe if you get rid of the hogs the deer will comes back.

We see deer but they aren't eating the corn at any of the our feeders. The pigs come in a few days after the corn has built up and disappear for a week or so. We even cut all the feeders back to one second a day.

Acorns everywhere. They prefer to eat those.

Sounds like your feeder pens are not doing their job if the pigs are getting in. If you goal is deer I would suggest you don't let the pigs into the feeder pen.

Like others said, many are having hard times baiting deer in because of all the natural food available, and that is really state wide right now.
