Homie do NOT like snakes !! Unless they're sealed up behind glass, then they're pretty cool to watch.

I prefer mine in the form of hat bands, belts or boots. The only wiggling I'm interested in is the kind my toes do...

Backing for longbow limbs is pretty cool too.

One tidbit I'd like to add, snakes are ectothermic. This means if the snake stays in a specific area long enough
he will take on the temperature of his surroundings. A dark snake out in the sunlight would be visible to thermal.
If the temp. was down around 50-60 degrees say at night,he would more than likely not be visible if he had been there
for an extended amount of time because his body temp would adjust down to the cool grass or whatever he happens to be
resting on.

Maybe that's actually why the background gets washed out after all the rain..... so many mosquitos that the thermal can't see the background....... o_O

That would be helpful with the giant snakes in the Everglades. Makes avoiding them easier

No I wish and I hope they hurry up and make that an option to turn off. I have had mosquitoes so thick that they made my IR illuminator useless though.

When mosquitos are as bad as dust.... that's no fun.
Back in the day... before A/C was included with vehicles for the arctic (arctic package)... we'd take bug screen and duct tape, and install it to the inner portion of the windows' door frames. That way, we could open the window for cross ventilation and not be eaten alive during our shift.

During times of escorting a "rig move" (drill rigs), we'd be stop/go all day long as we'd escort these things for miles and miles (walking pace). Contests would begin between day/night shift.

When the screen was coated with 'skeeters, you'd roll up the window and lightly press against the screen, crushing them between the screen/glass. They'd fall down to the rubber sweep. Then, roll the window down and let the next batch land on the screen (trying to get you). At the end of the shift, you'd mark the line of dead 'skeeters which had built up and it was the next shift's challenge to kill more than you did.

That is not even fun sounding. A plethora of skeeters are nothing but obnoxious.

I'm not seeing the fun in that. Amusement reading about it sure.... living it.....no so much.
