Bedded River Boar

While scouting a new stand location on the north side of the Colorado River with my brother and dad, I bumped this nice boar off his bed on the banks @ 40 yards. Instead of immediately bolting, he stood and paused to figure out what I was. This gave me the 1-2 seconds to lower the rifle on him and get a round off. Hurriedly my first shot was far back but still clipped lung. As he started running, I started shooting. He took 3 out of 4 subsequent shots before folding at a distance of 65-70 yards. Taped out to 230lbs.

Rifle & Ammo: 18" JP Enterprise 6.5 Grendel. 120 Barnes TTSX

Talk about a rude awakening. There he was nestled all snug in his bed when shots from the Grendel rang out in his head..............

A woolly rhino payoff for being diligent and keeping your boom stick with you while scouting.
