Regale me with your tale.....I'm still 10 days out from opening day antsy and fidgety can't wait to get in the woods. Stingers are flying tight and corn on the ground!

I've done 2 morning walk and stalks with my longbow but it is not a very good area. Had a little buck at 10 yds but he busted me before I could get a shot.

This past Sunday was a foggy morning, had this beautiful 14 pointer walk behind me 15 yards then circle upwind and pause @ 25 yards out. Best buck I've ever shot. God is good.

Nice work guys! 9 days and counting. Sure hope this dipship storm doesn't come park on us before then. Then again if it will arrive a bit after opening day we may get more insane movement. Before Irma all the deer and hogs were out feeding like Rosie O'Donnell at a free Krisy Kreme event.

I haven't come across either target buck yet, but I did put some meat in the freezer yesterday.

Plenty of time left to find a shooter buck.

Yeah, for me it is usually a mature doe first in the freezer. That way I tend to be more selective on the bucks that I target the rest of the year.
Nothing huge like in the pics above though. Nothing scoreable. Usually about a 12-14" inside and 6-8 points on smallish tines.
Several years ago my wife killed a 9pt that was 15 inches inside. I have never killed a deer that size down here in extreme NW Fla. ---- SAWMAN

I took (for my place) a really good 9. Heavy tines, and over antler restriction width. He walked by opening morning, but only gave me a profile look at his rack. He stared at the game cam full on a week later, and 2 weeks after opening he started by me again. I was surprised he made it that long. Didn't hesitate this time. My son also took a really good 8 a couple weeks later. Looked much like they share some of the same genes. Freezers are getting pretty full. As stated above, God is good!

Well, I ended the Wisconsin season with a nice mature doe in the freezer. IMG_0822.JPG Still hoping for another chance this weekend.

I'm gonna put 1 more doe in the freezer, but quite frankly would be happy to see any buck more than a button or spike. Freaking loggers.
