Greetings everyone from Georgetown, Texas. I am a lifelong bird hunter and novice boar/predator hunter for the last few years.

I teach shotgun for the Boy Scouts, I have 3 kids (one in college) and am left eye dominant. I go hunting whenever I can and look forward to learning and getting to know all of you.

Pew pew life,

Andrew

Welcome to the fray. Plenty of banter to jump into the middle of. Just watch where you step when doing so... it gets deep from time to time.

Hi there! I teach shotgun for Scouts and 4H, too. Isn't it great? Thanks for volunteering your skills for the next generations.

Dominant Eye... I'm one of those who, when concentrating on my sight picture... my eye dominance can/will switch from right to left. Makes me crazy sometimes.

As a firearms instructor I can tell you with great confidence that if you shoot with both eyes closed your eye dominance issues won't affect your shooting at all.

As a regular firearms shooter I have found that to be true also.

At our last Boy Scout outing a month ago, to my surprise, I was able to hit some clays shooting lefty. Regardless, I feel I am too old to make the switch.

Just close your dominant eye right when you pull the trigger, or partially occlude your vision with a bit of chapstick or tape on the left lens of your glasses, and you should be fine.
