Any of you 6.8/.277 shooters have any field experience with Speer Gold Dot terminal performance on hogs?
Give me the good, bad and ugly?
I was given 450 rounds of 90gr. Is this just for plinking or does it actually expand. It looks like it has a SP tip.

Thanks in advance.

Do some poking around in past threads on that bullet. There's been some reporting here already. From my reading of the reports, it seems to perform better with a little bit of distance, more so than much closer ranges. At least that was the impression I got from what's been written.

I was not impressed. Lots of blood but lots of blood trails also. Of course with perfect shot placement they will go down.

I use mine for the range and sighting in, the only thing I have killed are coons and a skunk w it. I was told it is the same as their fusion but lighter weight and I don't like the 115gr Fusion either

Thanks folks. That's what I needed to know. Will keep it for plinking and varmints.
