    Howdy.

Shot this boar on the ranch Saturday Morning at 0155. Of course, in my excitement I forgot to photograph the tape measurement (as I only keep records for myself). Anyways, this boar came in at 46-7/8", so about 268lbs. However I guess you will have to take my word for it. The only measuring device for reference is the inch marks on my Allen shooting sticks in the second photograph.

This boy had me nervous (shooting 5.56mm) when I started my stalk. I have many photos of him on trail camera from my deer areas on the ranch, and he always looked bigger on those...maybe this is a smaller boar?

I actually shot him in the neck and dropped him from 86 yards. The blood behind the leg is from the exit of my second shot (spine, lower back) to ensure that he was anchored as I started my walk up.

    268 lbs? Naw, he couldn't be over 266! :D

Heck, you could have told us 278 and it would have looked about right, LOL. That is a nice sized boar!

Good job on the hog. Good job on the quality assurance second shot.

I'm lousy at estimating weights, but he does appear to be a tad on the large size
