.17 HMR

Anyone have any experience with this load? The price is right and ammo is abundant. Maybe not for hogs but trajectory makes it look like a fun distance driver for varmints. Seems like a fun gun to shoot on some of these big SF ranches we have. Any of yall got one or shot one?

I had a savage in 17hmr but I sold it. Are you talking bolt action or the Alexander arms ar upper?

I've shot one never owned one. For me my .22lr could do anything it could do for varmits. But Im shooting close range.

i could shoot groundhogs at 100 yards easy. its a fun little round but yeah, a .22lr can do the same thing basically. i think my longest shot with the .17 was 200 yards on a chipmunk once

I'm talking bolt action. I think the reason it is so attractive to me is the shelves full of ammo. My 22lr is a back scratcher with this ammo shortage.

Yeah, it's out there. Walmart here has 17hmr and random rifle rounds
