    Reap-ir with DVR issues

Thanks to all, I got it resolved... Though I do wounder why the DVR is set to 30 hz, but the Reap needs to be 60 hz.. Glad I have backup battery packs if I have to run at 60... Rgilbert- the picture in the scope looks the same on video mode, but the captured video is not even close to the...

    Reap-ir with DVR issues

How to set up your Armasight thermal.

While I have a Reap-ir, I can tell you that looking at things 10 feet away is WAY to close for a thermal.. try something at least 100 feet or more with that size lens else it will look like junk

    Shot show 2017

I have been seeing people reference buffering on some of the commercial scopes... Is this in reference to video or what I am seeing in the scope is not live?

ATN Thor 640 HD vs Armasight Zeus 336

if it were me I would hold off, I think some new 640 stuff may be coming and at some better pricing.. I was told pulsar has a new unit coming for between 3-5k and test reports were they were nice... Keep in mind this is what I was told and I have NOT seen them myself

    Deciding on a thermal scope

If you decide to use a battery pack like I do on my Reap-ir then I just leave it on the whole hunt as it should last @8-12 hours. Once I am done for the night I just recharge it (plus I have a spare battery pack - just in case)

    Reap-IR owners

First a question, then some eye candy.. Once you turn on the Reap-IR and get past the first logo screen mine show's 2.18 in the upper left side, does anyone know what that means (firmware revision?).. Also here are some images of Turkeys and a bear I ran into while out before... Sorry, the...

Talk me out of a REAP-IR?

I went through the same concerns that you Re. Tried an ATN Thor Hd and was not happy with it (I also have one of their rev 1 X sights, been happy with that for the last year) . What I wanted was compact, light weight, strong company backing it, and best quality for the money spent product. I...

    Reap-IR owners

The manual did come with it, but I would say it is more a flip card style rather than a full blown manual. One the other hand it is pretty darn simple to use. As stated in the past I have used mine disconnected (made a simple lanyard from some 550 cord) and hang it around my neck when not...

    Reap-IR owners

Yes, I have the battery pack, just didn't use it. I need to figure out a way to use it while scanning via handheld, and while attached to the rifle (which I don't hold while scanning). Thinking either a longer cord would be perfect. JPK, thanks for the NUC tip, I was only doing it about 30...

    Reap-IR owners

I was using some CR123 that I had, but do have the battery pack as well, but did not use. I do wish they sold the cable a little longer, but that is just for how I am using it (hand scanning then mount to rifle)

    Reap-IR owners

Just got back from my first test/hunt with the reap-ir... Got it dialed in on the range, then tested taking it off and on multiple times with dead nuts on the money out to 100... Happy so far When in the blind I start using it alone to scan (by its self since I feel good zero is good) looking...

Once you turn the unit on, after the logo you will see the firmware version. Just wondering... I head out in the morning to travel for some pigs and yotes.. Can't wait. Also, I will be trying out the scanning, then reattach for zero.

    Reap-IR owners

Couple questions for those who have had them a while (since I just received mine yesterday, wow the picture quality..) - What firmware does yours say? (see the number during start up - should be 2.XX) - Has anyone had any sort of issue going from lanyard scanning to putting it back on the rifle...

Moving from NV to Thermal - Questions

Yes, I have been known to sleep a little in it ;) Problem is where I hunt it seems we have about as many black bears as hogs (covered up in both) and have to keep your situational awareness on with Momma bears that have a cub with.. 3 weeks ago I had a bear sneak in while my eyes were closed...

Moving from NV to Thermal - Questions

Quick follow-up.. After a short, but very good conversation with Cliff (very nice, knowledgeable person), looking at some other models (and many calls to other places) I ended up going with the IR Defense REAP-IR unit. Though I was planning on doing more research on the options, I was offered...
