Good points Rooter. That thread helped. I decided to go with the Q50 also. I’m scanning up to a mile away so he extra distance is most helpful to me. I’ll keep the Apex for close in work and when I’m in the thick stuff. Now I gotta wait 6-8 weeks!

I put a DLOC-PTM on my Apex XD38. This mount is a must have. So simple to quickly mount and un-mount the scope for scanning. I took it on and off ten times shooting in between. It held zero without fail. The price is hard to swallow but you will not be disappointed.

.....cause I'll never shoot one bigger that this. I went out to a property that I've been hunting for a few months now. It's a four sq mile box cut out of a wildlife refuge loaded with hogs. The farmer has the entire thing planted with soybeans. I've probably shot at least 100 there by now...

I was sent a video of a hog eating roadkill in broad daylight out in Guam. Sure is a brave little bastard.

I took my first hog with my 10.5" 300BLK last night. I was using some Cor-Bon supers loaded with Barnes Black Tips shot through my Omega can. Neck shot rolled him at about 120 yds. I'm impressed. It was also my first hunt with the Apex XD38a. '][/URL]

Standard buffer and spring. Both with Gemtech subs and CorBon 110gr supers.

I originally used an 8.5" KAK barrel. I quickly found out that you get what you pay for. My groups at 75yds were over five inches!!! I swapped it out for a 10.5" Rainier Arms Match barrel in stainless. Sub moa.

This thread makes me feel much better about the 300BLK 10.5" pistol I built. I wasn't sure what the hell I was going to do with it at first.

I decided to spend some time in the woods tonight after the girls surprised me with cake for my 40th B-Day. I FINALLY shot a sow after about 15 straight boars! Gotta love the video from the ATN X-Sight II 3-14. This group came in fast and surprised me. I hardly had time to get the rifle up and...

Yeah I think it helps a lot. I shot another one this morning and noticed it was a lot better. Of course I forgot to record that one. By the time the muzzle settled and I re-acquired the hog it was clear. Just in time for the damn thing to get up and run off in the woods. Lol

It's the 3-14 model. The bloom was from having the illuminator on the side of the unit. I moved it up to the bottom of the rail and it's a lot better.

FrankT, I was probably 60 yds from him. Shooting offhand which accounts for all the shakiness. Lol. I was only on 3 power.

Finally got the X-Sight up and running. Put some time in the woods with it and overall, I'm pretty impressed. It's certainly better than a flashlight and scope, but didn't quite quench my thirst for a thermal. Oh well...someday. Here's a video I took of the first hunt. '][/URL]
