Hey kids; I went Elk hunting for two weeks up in north eastern Utah. I was unable to connect with any Elk but made this video of one of my favorite spots up there. Enjoy.
The neighbors would join right in Mr Dog. We watch over each others family's very closely here. Wonderful group of folks.
It seems I hijacked your thread Ratdog; I am sorry for that.
Yes I eat Beaver meat. It some of the best meat I have ever consumed. I have eaten Zebra and found that to be awesome also. Does that count as weird? Here is a video of a big furry Beaver that I ate.
There are many ground squirrels and chipmunks available for target practice. I will be trapping Raccoon's out of the creek bottom come winter. This place is only 3 miles from my Beaver trapping area. I need to restock the freezers; I ran out of hog meat.
No Frank; that one fell through; it was a water rights issue. This place is 1/2 mile north of that property. This house is larger with less property, only 1/2 acre.
I did buy a home and have moved in. It has an unfinished basement so while it is to hot to do anything outside I am finishing the basement.
I am waiting anxiously for trapping season to start and I am going after a Bull Elk in the first part of October.
I bought my home very close to Zion...
I hope things go well for you Ratdog. I have been finishing a basement myself (1600sq/ft) and can hardly move each morning or evening. Getting old is not for sissy's.
I think it is a marketing scam, it is not beneficial to the bees, It will not do as advertised, It is very expensive, You still have to get into the hive and care for the bees, Honey will not pull against a vacuum, should I go on?
It means they are hot, or humid, or getting ready to swarm, or they are having a rock concert, or they are bees that just like to hang out!! Hard to say, they are insects. Good question.
They call it Apitherapy. There is no scientific evidence that it works. I received no stings with this swarm, they are very docile when swarming as they have nothing to protect. I remove Hornets with a rolled up burning newspaper. Their wings melt very rapidly so they fall to the ground. Kinda...
I actually got the pleasure of working with some of those last week. Only got three stings on my head before I could veil up. they were a little moody. The Africanized bees are the absolute best at honey production far exceeding the production of other species. This is the very reason they were...
The box we put them in is a nucleus hive. they will stay in there for a few months and will then be transferred into a full size hive. That step is very easy; just lift the frames out of this box and put them into the hive. They were taken about 20 miles away where there are alfalfa fields in...
There is always something in bloom here in the desert. Alfalfa fields, wild flowers, ornamental plants in the neighborhoods, fruit orchards all around. There is much forage available.
