Damn, I actually came here for this exact reason- to get an idea of value on a Zeus 640 3-24x75 that is 5 years old.

Anyone scouted using a drone with a thermal camera? This time of the year with most of the leaves off the trees and most fields harvested has me thinking about the efficiency of using a drone to scout. Looking at a $1,900 Parrot drone with a FLIR 160x120 camera with about a 2 miles range...

Appears to be a Zeus (non-PRO) 640 3-24x75 30HZ, same model that was sent in. Looks like MY scope (as opposed to my buddy's) needs to develop another issue in the next month now......

I kinda left this thread to wilt away. Ended up getting my buddy's scope back from FLIR in April. Still had issues turning off during recoil- any recoil. Dropping the hammer on an empty AR chamber would cause it to turn off. E-mailed them again and they said send it in. They replaced it...

Just got my hunting buddy's scope back from FLIR yesterday. He had the blue screen issue. Haven't really put it through its paces, but image looks improved. We're going hunting this weekend so I'll have to report back. I did notice that his still has the same battery meter issue it has had...

On every thermal unit I've used (Zeus 640 3x75, Thor 320 2x 30(?), Pulsar HD38A 336 2x36mm) the objective focus is the most used feature on the scope to improve clarity. Well, with the exception of the Leupold that I've looked through and doesn't have focus.

Recently noticed that the plastic /resin housing around the power knob on my Zeus (non-Pro) 3-24x75 640 has developed a crack. Still in the 3 year warranty period. I'm in the process of going back and forth with FLIR for sending it in to address the crack, as well as fogging in the eyepiece...

Well, I had a chance to check the contrast and now it is working a hell of a lot better. I think it was set at -4 or so. Changing it to positive 3 made all the difference in the world. I guess i had it written down wrong (or didn't catch when Todd said the positive number range was for white...

The video is a good one. The short version of it are the numbers above for white hot. For black hot, change the contrast number to the negative range.

I haven't checked the contrast lately. Since getting the firmware update 17 months ago, I did watch Todd's excellent video and set the contrast to +3 or so (I use white hot) and set sharpness to 55, Smart Scene to 24, Gain to 30 and AGC to 20. I didn't think about going back to revisit to see...
