    Baiting question.....

Oh I'll never quit hunting the rascals! Between cured hams, chili, sausage, pate & burgers, I'll eat every scrap.

    Baiting question.....

I cooked up one of her back straps tonight (salt, black pepper broil. Flip coat with salsa & gruyere cheese) for myself & my hunting bud. Literally the toughest damn meat I've ever tried to chew. :'( Wonderful flavor, but every other scrap of the thing is going to be cured ham or sausage.

    Baiting question.....

Wednesday night's sweet feed worked! I didn't even get to my spot. I started hucking out a couple of pounds of clean corn, looked over & saw this fatty munching her way through the timber.

    Baiting question.....

I know it's not really much, but I did hunt the same cut about 6 weeks ago & I dumped out 4 large tubs of Tropical Kool aid. I learned hog hunting by visiting Texas from England & I'm very aware that 'less is more' when it comes to baiting. Big piles are a big no no & that small amounts, over a...

    125 CBB 300blk loads

Welp....after a week of fiddling around, I've settled on a charge of 18.5gn of W296, COAL of 2.160" I'm getting an average 2140fps, not the hottest load under the sun, but giving .75moa 5 shot, 100yd groups, I'll take accuracy over velocity every time. They're shooting 3" lower than the TAC Tx...

    Baiting question.....

If a fella was to take a weekend away hog hunting an area that was unfamiliar, but known to hold good pig numbers.....would it be worth even bothering to bait? I'm going to be visiting a bud in Alabama, driving down Friday morning. I'm planning on sitting in a big, freshly logged clear cut...

    Ammo Selection

Hard to beat the federal blue box, 150gn soft points in a .308 for anything smaller than elk. By far and away the most accurate, common factory round I've tried in any caliber (I always buy a box to try in any new gun I buy & I've found that if it won't shoot those well, it won't shoot anything...

Personal experiences with the 5.56 and hogs

I've dumped 4 with 5.56 from a Ruger GSR, including my biggest to date. All were DRT but they were also all stationary, sub 200yds & shot pretty close behind the ear. I don't think I'd even attempt shooting runners with one! I switched out almost exclusively to a 300blk shooting 110 black tips &...

    125 CBB 300blk loads

After seeing the CBB bullets, I've decided to give them a shot, in preference to Barnes Blacktips in my 16" blk. Should I follow load workup the same as the 125 Barnes, or does anyone have a 'pet' recipe? My powder preference would be H110/296 if it's any help.

This Alabama swamp moose is my biggest to date. I couldn't tell you the live weight, I had to debone & pack the rascal 2 miles out of the woods, but I got 76lb of clean meat + liver out of it. I'm a pretty damn thorough butcher though. I'd guess maybe 160 live? Most of the critters around here...

New member here from Tennessee. I'm an English transplant (10 years) so I'll pre-apologise if my sense of humor makes no sense! I do the bulk of my pigging here in the Southeast; Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia & Florida, but I really got into hog hunting in west Texas. I've hunted with everything...
