Went out with Dave and Darrell this weekend down west of Fort Worth. Dave and I have hunted this property before and one of the unique things we found was that the hogs were getting into the feeder pen area of the barnyard next to the owner's house. Last time we were there, we had the issue of dealing with all the cattle in the feeder pen area...that seemed to have been displaced by the hogs....

We checked out the feeder pen area on the way in and saw nothing, so headed to the back of the property where we got on a sounder of hogs. The field was huge and in the midst of shooting hogs, we discovered another group in the background that we did not even know were there, LOL.

This video is a bit long as we have video from two rifles and on this first group, new hogs kept cropping up after we thought we were done shooting. In the middle of it all, Darrell ran out of ammo and got charged by a micro-hog.

Next, we got onto a lone boar in a pasture with cattle. I think we spooked the boar as he turned around and seemed to head around the tree we were behind. Darrell and I waited for the hog to come around the backside and Dave took the more aggressive approach and followed the hog. Dave got the shot, but no video as Dave didn't have video on his gun.

Then we made it to the barnyard feeder pens again and hogs were inside. Based on what we had learned, there was only one way in and one way out. So Darrell and I waited by the exit and Dave went around behind the barn to flush the hogs out of the pens. When we started shooting, a bunch of other hogs suddenly appeared. I think they may have been bedded down.

Great story write up and video Brian. I believe the hogs I have been following have moved - to you!
Congrats on the hunt.

Yer rern't... used to the joy of a suppressed report. Good killin' in spite of the loud barking.

Just think how much shootin' you could do with a capture net for those pen hogs to run in to. Fish in a barrel !!!

Looked like one of them thought it was part kangaroo.

No shortage at all.

I saw those three run out of the corral my first thought was oh no they’re shooting and there are cows in the background?

I don’t know how y’all shoot in those cow lots like you do? I’d be a nervous wreck.

I am a nervous wreck just having someone else out hunting with me. I know you do a great job of being situationally aware before you pull the trigger.
