A little coyote action

I’m using the UNV dloc on my pulsar. I have it torqued to 44 inch pounds as it did come loose when I first switched to it from the original. 44 inch pound is what manufacturer told me to use if I wanted it go past finger tight.

I don’t know why my scope started shooting low. Could be warmer weather, and I just switched to a new lot of powder, but I checked it on another gun, had to bump the charge 1/10 to get same velocity so it shouldn’t have been ammo? Who knows? I do have the newest firmware that is supposed to fix temp issues with this scope installed.

Scope lives on this rifle. I never tested its return to zero. After it came loose that first time I torqued it so I could “set it and forget it”.

I do routinely take my PTS233 off my 9mm AR and switch it out with my aimpoint comp M4 for day/night use. Both scopes return to zero almost perfectly at 50 yards. I have no doubts the dloc on the pulsar will do the same, I’ve just not tested it.

Someone suggested using the larue index clips in front of the optic. So you could find it in the dark and to get it in the same slot each time. I’ve got them on my 9mm and they are helpful.

Very target rich environment.

Got a few more last night after a week of not seeing any.

They were a little on the smaller and harder to hit side. Scope cover dropped over lens toward the end.

I thought this was interesting.

You could see the bullet while my buddy shooting at a skunk with his subsonic 22.

And that 22 is really quiet. You can’t even hear it firing on the video. Haha

That skunk was a slow learner. He should have left town after the first shot.

The skunk eventually got his but I jumbled the thermal around so badly it was unwatchable so I cropped that part out.

He never sprayed either. Possibly a young’un?

That’s really cool how you can see the round going thru the air. Yes dum skunk.

No hogs last night, but I did get three coyote. Here’s a scene from one of the three from two different viewpoints.

Shot him at about 175 yards with my pulsar XP50 and walked out confirm the kill with my 9mm / Flir PTS233.

This one took two hits but and ran off anyway. Found him a short distance in the woods.

My new Flir Breach came in handy tonight.

I’m wondering if the 640 model will be sharp enough to see the hand gun sights? I can see the rear sight but not the front with the 320.

But you can see we’ll enough to shoot a man sized object such as this hog in the head/neck area from five steps away. Not a problem.
