Well, any round should bring down a hog with a really good shot. What happens with less than great shots? I was trying to hit one of the leg bones to get a 'heavy bone' impact to see how the bullet would perform. I just missed, on both sides, but the result was a bit of a surprise.


Given the copious blood loss, I really don't think I would have ever expected the hog to make it anywhere near that far.

I read once that a human, even if shot through the heart, has suffficient oxygen in the brain to operate for up to 15 seconds. I guess hogs are similar.

Yeah, it took him 17 seconds to cover 180 yards and he lived beyond that to cover another 50. His heart was pumping and so he was still getting some blood flow, albeit diminishing blood flow, that would give him more time to live. In the vid, that long squirt on the ground was just a few feet from where i found him. So up until the end, he was pumping it out.
