What DVR are you using?

Hey guys I want to start recording our hunts. I have the Armasight apollo and the only thing I can find that's compatible with it is the one made by Armasight but they seem kinda pricey. Have any of you come up with a more economical option? Thanks in advance

These are the same physical unit as you can get from UNV but do not have the vibrate function (slightly different firmware) to let you know when you are recording and don't come with the pouch to mount on your gun, but you same $85. Black Box VR1500 V2 FPV Recorder with built-in LCD (Tailored for FPV use) Black Box FPV Recorder with built-in LCD [0772-91] : Hobby Wireless, Your Best Stop For Drones, FPV Gear and more... You will still need a proper cable to go between the scope and the dvr, however.

Is the cable different from the one that came with the scope?

I recently bought a cheap DVR off ebay for around $55 for use with my Pulsar thermal. It works well but the file size is rather large. It's not 1080p and the avi files seem somewhat large. But I haven't messed around much with software to try to reduce the file size while keeping the quality. I think it's called a "Kelima mini car dvr". I just looked it up and it is no longer listed as that and the seller I bought it from doesn't carry it now. Anyway, putting in a search for "2.5 LCD mini DVR" pulls up results for it at either $67 or $80. It uses the Nikon "B" mini USB plug for charging and standard 3.5mm (or maybe 2.5, I don't recall for sure) jack for video input from the scope. You can make your own cable for the Armasight using the correct plug from Binder. I found it was cheaper to order the plug ends from a supplier in the UK than to order direct from Binder, as Binder's shipping is quite pricey.

If it looks like this, suggest going elsewhere. KELIMA Portable Mini Video Upgraded Angel Eyes AV Output Car DVR -$76.97 Online Shopping| GearBest.com

Angel Eyes products do not hold up well to recoil.
