Quick question, but I think I may know the answer. Yesterday at the range, shooting Thermal in front of a Leopold 3x9 .308 it would not hold zero, that is each shot moved to the left. I had my IR Steiner mounted on the right side of the armasight unit. Would this, the weight affect the unit holding zero with scope after firing?

Originally I was going to say just Re:ZERO with the new additional weight on your scope.

But if it would not hold any zero, that’s either shooter influenced, or something may have worked loose and is affecting it differently from shot to shot?

My instinct is that if the model of scope you’re using has a rail on it? They intended you to mount something like you’re IR on it?

But not knowing anything about the operation of that model scope I’m probably not even qualified to be responding here at all?

What sort of target were you shooting at?

I have personally chased bullet impact away from my original heat source I’m shooting at by getting into much of a hurry, thinking the fresh bullet impact was the original heated up object.

It was frustrating before I figured it out.

It should not either the mount has worked loose or the unit is having some internal problems. I just had to send a Zeus 75mm back that started loosing zero. Mine started shifting right it eventually got so bad I could not get it on target at 20 yards.

actually found the two screws on the bottom had worked loose, tighten up and with a properly sighted in 338 fed. , 3x9 Leopold clip on placement took a large boar at 156 yards. Lazar ranged him working to me with the Leica range finder, then switched over from IR 6.5 to the 338 , barrel switch and nailed it. awesome, like star wars but for real.
