Looking to put a couple cellular cameras on our place and am wondering if the consensus is still thumbs up for the Covert?

I have AT&T cel service and its pretty sketchy right at the trailer. Not sure if Verizon is any better. Does the big ass antenna on the Covert give any better reception than the phone gets?

Any experience with the Moultrie Mobile setup? Thanks!

Have tried Covert, Bushnell and Spartan Gocam. Best results for me has been with the Spartan. It also gave me the best reception without an additional antenna. Using AT&T service.

BR Gang is running Coverts... they pick up service where cell phones wont, but man do they eat batteries if the service is weak

That's probably like my cell phone, if the service is weak they constantly search for a signal.

I hog hunt with a couple from New York that has a Moultrie camera setup through Verizon to their phone. I guess it works but have not heard any particulars or actually seen it. I thought I heard them say they pay $15/month.

The problem is, taking pictures of hogs and actually being there to shoot the hogs is two different things. I have a Moultrie 880 camera and it takes pictures every night of hogs but that does not mean I'll see hogs when I'm in the blind. I might but not a sure thing.

Last winter my camera took pictures of two black and white hogs for weeks. It was always between the hours of 11:00 PM and 2:30 AM. They were very reclusive. We waited for them during those hours several times but never saw them. Then one night I was in the blind alone and scanned the area through my NV monocular at around 7:30 PM and there they were. I killed one of them but they figured out I was in the blind just before I pulled the trigger. They avoided me very well but one day they made the fatal mistake.

Talked to my brother this morning in Montana. He just set up tw0 Coverts recently. Pays 10/mth to Verizon but gets like 100 pics I think for that price. He said a herd of elk came and laid down in front of one of them the other morning and he had to turn off the service it was sending pics non stop. lol

I run covert and Moultrie mobile cams. Covert offers Verizon and At&t service, and also has a "pic on demand" feature which is good if you are running electronic hog traps. I pay $10 a month for 1000 pics.... My Moultrie mobile modems work well, just have about a 2 minute lag between the time the pic is taken and when you'll get the text or email. It's $10 for 750 pics, but there are multiple plans if you go look on their site. Moultrie mobile only runs on Verizon. Hope this helps

We have 4 coverts one of our most important spot is on a low cell phone coverage area. I don't know if thats something covert could make an adjustment too or not. I've been really happy with it.

I ended up with a Covert Black and it is doing fine. Outside the trailer, my iPhone gets 1 bar but the Covert says 40% and sends images very quickly.
