Muzzle thread question

Hey all,

I gave into some of the Labor Day sales and bought a Bear Creek Arsenal 16" 6.8 SPC II barrel from Primary Arms just to get into the caliber. The muzzle threads are 1/2 x 36 and I have an adapter on the way to convert it to 5/8 x 24 and am a little concerned about one side or the other loosening. The adapter is from Brownells and is shoulderless so it should have threads along the entire length of it. I'm wondering if applying Locktite/Rocksett to the 1/2 x 36 side would allow me to install and remove muzzle devices without worrying about something getting loose.

Thoughts?

I've hand tightened my adapter and never had any issues.

I think I would use some Rocksett as well.

Why shoulderless? Are you Rocketting it to your suppressor or to your barrel?

It's just what Brownells had in terms of adapters. I'm thinking of Rocksetting the adapter to the barrel to try and make it a more permanent 5/8 x 24 thread. I was planning on using a screw on suppressor eventually and want to make sure the suppressor comes off and leaves the adapter on the barrel.

FYI I have seen some use thread adapters for suppressor use and it resulted in damage. The suppressor was not aligned with the bore.
