This was a couple weeks ago. All the fields are in beans and the damn things were close to waist high. I decided to stay another night since the first night wasn't real productive.

The first night I ended up just driving the 2 mile road back and forth. Occasionally stopping and sitting for 10 or 15 minutes. It was getting close to midnight and I had taken a couple shots and got a thud but it ran off. Getting impatient I decided I'd just keep driving and do a slow roll instead of stopping. Tried standing in the back of the wheeler but still couldn't see anything in the fields. The only hope was catching them in the road.

I've tried the "Sow Hysteria" call several times and can't get any love. Tried it with just the iPhone speakers and a bluetooth speaker. I have some powered speakers that have some good volume and bass and may try that.

Finally got a glimpse of a couple small ones pretty close and a farther group. Figured I'd take the close ones if they gave me the option. They did. He ended up being, maybe, 20lbs.

The second night turned out to be more of the same and I had run over to the other end of the place to check one last field before I called it quits. Nothing, so I am heading back to the truck for the night. I decide to scope the field that is directly in front of the road to our place. I had checked it when I passed 15 mins before and nothing. Now, however, score. I decide to park and stalk 100 yards or so to get closer. I am upwind but Im thinking there are houses close by and maybe that stink will be stronger than mine. I got up in a good position and figured it was about an 80 yard shot. Probably shoulda waited for him to lift his head again but I was thinking he might skeedaddle and took what I thought was an easy shot. Thought I heard a thud but oh well.
