I have been smelling a skunk all day. I was out in garage reload and smelled it again. I look out and there she was. Ran grabbed my 6.8 12" and at 95 yds bang 85 gr Barnes MPG big exit wound
see large entrance in front of leg

Exit is front leg gone

I should be hunting skunks, one night i passed on over 20 skunks, hopeing for a pig, no pigs/ no skunks.

I hate those stinkers and many have or get rabies

I caught 3 of them in the last couple weeks in leg-hold traps. I have 60 baby chickens, they would kill them for snacks if given the chance.

I can get bit by a coyote, slashed by a hog, fall in a hole in the ground, and my wife will take care of me. If I get sprayed by a skunk, she has already told me not to bother coming home...

I have been hunting these guys on the ranch I live on and in the last month and a half have shot 16 so far. I'm using a $1,700 .25 cal air rifle that is suppressed so I can shoot one and then turn. And shoot another and it's not even running away.
I either use an ir laser and PVS 14 or I have an xsight2 on there that works ok for the distance I'm shooting 50 to 75 yards.

Nice! I sit and shoot mice with my 22 cal pellet gun most evenings next to the chicken coop. Any excuse to hunt!

That they will.

I shot one last year at Rick's place and the buzzards were on it by morning.

Now if only I'd shot it further from the house................
