Got some video footage of our new 940nm IR driving lights. This is a 10" bar and 2 cubes mounted on my bumper behind the grill. Rural area with no moonlight on an overcast night.

Here's what they look like mounted. Pardon the bugs. Haven't been to the car wash lately.

I actually saw these today and looked like they were of good quality. The numerous videos I watched showed they were designed with NV in mind. Nice work Tyler and crew!

Nice... and for ease of effort cleaning those bugs... a spray bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide. Mist them, let it sit (but not dry up) for a bit and they should soften right up to clean off easily.

Nicely done sir! I've been looking for an inexpensive way to rig up something similar.
When are you going to get a thermal mount outside the truck that can scan left and right and is wired up to a screen inside the cab of the truck? Or do u already have that

Thanks! Yes, I have a DIY thermal pan-tilt setup that I put together using a FLIR VUE Pro 640 and a GoLight housing. I just got a new 13" monitor that will dim down low enough that it doesn't illuminate the inside of the truck while I'm driving around at night.

We will be offering a more refined, turn-key version of this setup soon. In addition to the 19mm lens there will be an option to add another unit with a 100mm lens which would allow you to alternate between a zoomed-in and wide field of view.

Can you share details on the screen? Finding one that dims low enough has been a challenge for me.

Dims low enough for use with pvs-14? I had to turn mine off when the screen was in use.

No, I don't want or need that. Just enough that it doesn't light up everything in the cab or make my pupils really tiny.

It's pretty expensive compared to some of the other monitors available, but the image quality is really good, it's light, it has a 178-degree viewing angle, can be dimmed down very low, accepts USB power, and has an HDMI input. I also run my VUE on the green color pallet, which doesn't seem to be as bright as some of other ones.

I've added a couple layers of neutral density filter over screens to take off that glare and make them not light you up like a christmas tree.

Wow, that is a great find. Thanks for posting the link. Very affordable fix for a lot of things.

Recently I paid something like $30 for a 37mm 9 f stop filter for a Pulsar 19A to reduce brightness. A sheet of the stuff you linked would be a fraction of the cost and leave a lot of excess for other purposes.

We've used that stuff to cover the video screen on that remote thermal system I'd posted about as well as to cover the dash board lights on my buddies side by side. You can just keep adding layers until you get the needed dimness.
