Oooooohhh... too bad! You had the two-fer lined up perfectly too. At least you stopped him without him getting a chunk of you.

Sorry about the twofer, thought you had it! You get one running at you and the pucker factor goes up quick. Looks like a good night

LOL, at the time, I didn't know what would happen, but I think he was just running scared. Due to zoom, he looked a lot closer than he was, although he eventually ran by me within 10-15 yards. I was to their north and from the north is where they usually enter the property, but there is a lot of north side property line. I just didn't want them to get between me and the house. I actually thought he would run more to the left (east) and I would catch him out in the big open field. Apparently, the cattle got in the way and he turned back toward me.

Now Brian, you know you missed a perfect opportunity to tell everyone about the horribly dangerous wild hog that turned on you with blood and vengeance in his eyes and charged you with the sole intent of slicing you to pieces and eating you on the spot. You were only saved by your outstanding shooting under extreme duress thanks to your steely nerves and well honed skills. Nice hunt by the way.

I had one very similar when I started thermal hunting. As he rounded third and came straight at me (I had hit him at least three times broadside at that point) I managed to put four quick rounds into him from 50-25 yards. He was maybe 200 lbs, but had some pretty darn good cutters on him. That was my real wake-up that perhaps I should start looking into something larger than a 5.56.

And, take a knee as you shoot that charging animal (if there's time). No need to calculate "lead" if it's on a direct collision course with your pill(s).
