This is a follow up of my last post where I took down one of a pair of young boars. I went back out to the same location but sat in a different spot because of the wind. So this one boar appears on the ridge overlooking my feeder and the smart SOB sniffs out the other two locations I use before he circles around to the feeder! My first shot hits the neck and drops him but he's back up and running off after a few seconds. Luckily I was able to drop him for good with a second hit through the spine. I'd seen him on the game cam for several days and am pretty sure that he's the second one in the pair I saw before. His mistake was venturing out before the full moon had risen up over the tree line. I'm hearing more hogs in the creek but they just aren't moving around much yet. Maybe these cold fronts will change their behavior. I'm ticked off at my Trail XP50 because several of my recent videos have been recorded in that super fast motion format that I've heard other users complain about. For the life of me I don't know what sequence of events causes it to do that! Anyway at least I can still take pictures with the phone. This guy was all hair, only weighed 130 and very small cutters. He looked much bigger in the scope.

At least you got him down! I’ve got acorns all over the ground and I’m not seeing many hogs at all. Very erratic. Makes for frustrating hunts. Glad to see someone doing some good!

Good job of mixing it up (locations). Nice follow-up shot too, to anchor the bastage. A wooly-booger, he was. Go get some more!!

I guess with acorns pecans and persimmons they aren't too interested in corn yet. And they certainly aren't interested in coming out in the open!

Good job on the boar and the followup shot! I don't know what the deal is on the super fast motion recordings. Even the Thermions are prone to do that.

Oh man, I didn't know that it had been reported on the Thermions too! I was even considering getting one.

Nice work…

Makes me wonder how often I’ve been in a seemingly perfect position, busted and didn’t even know it.

I guess that's one of the hazards of shooting from the ground instead of a stand. I have noticed tracks several times around
the places I regularly use to snipe from. And I always use a scent cover spray. We don't give near enough credit to just how
intelligent these critters are. I left a footprint once in some mud and the next day there was a hog track right in the middle
of it. Feels like they are tracking me sometimes.
