One of Two

I pulled camera cards yesterday and they showed two boars coming in anywhere from 7:30 to midnight. I set up yesterday evening about 6:00 and waited. Sure enough at 7:45 the smaller of the two showed up. I was unable to pull the recording off my PTS233 for some reason so before and after pics will have to do. I sent a 64 grain PP 5.56 SSA joggin' through his noggin @107 yds and short circuited his CPU. He dropped right under the feeder and did the curly shuffle for a few seconds and gave up the ghost. Hopefully, the bigger boar will show up soon and I can give him the same treatment.

Finally got the video downloaded. I'll try to get it posted later today. My Cat CTL decided not to start again so I'm running back and forth from the pasture to the shop trying to get the start problem solved. As bad as I hate to do it, I may have to call the Caterpillar dealer this time. He gets way too much of my money.

I like to see the spotted ones down! Good shooting. First driving I ever did was on my Uncles Ford 8N tractor outside of Roby. Things were simpler then... and cheaper!! Now on to the second one!

In the video I posted, at about 1:15 you will see a slight shake and then a different view from the scope. I had actually pulled the trigger and had a misfire. I had to clear the chamber so I cut all that monkeying around out of the video. I thought maybe I didn't have the round chambered completely and that's why it didn't fire. However, last night I was organizing things I used on the hunt and checked the ejected first round. It actually had a full primer strike but didn't fire. This is SSA 64 gr. PPT Bonded ammo that I have not used before. It certainly did the job on the hog but with the first round being a dud, I have a little concern about future performance. Here's pics of the dud and the fired round.

The strikes appear to be nearly identical…

One of the benefits of being at a little distance and well familiar with your gear is the ability to adapt successfully to unexpected events.

Nice job.
