I haven't been doing much hunting lately with the project my wife has me working on so I decided to take a break and refill the feeder and stick around to see what might show up. The landowner complained about hogs rooting up the pasture behind his house, so I was just going to watch the feeder for a little while after dark then move over to his side of the road to check out the back pasture. I filled the feeder then did some driving around to check for any new damage etc., then went back to get my gear ready. I didn't get out to the feeder until just before 9 pm since it didn't get dark till after 9. When I got there, I thought there was a hog under the feeder, but convinced myself that it was the roll barrel that I had just moved. I parked the UTV and started to get my things together and set up when I scanned the feeder area and the "roll barrel" had moved over under the feeder. I scrambled to get my shooting sticks up and the video turned on and the video picks up from there.
I stayed in place for awhile and tried to call in a coyote, but had a very aggressive raccoon come charging in to the call. He came in so fast, I didn't have time to turn on the video, but was glad to take the bonus varmint.
