I went hunting just after dark. At the second feeder with a green light there were several hogs. I shot one in the eye with my 6.8 with 120 SST. The round hit a second hog that ran off. I went and got my UTV an my catahoula dogs. The first one was dead at the feeder. My dogs tracked the second one that was still standing and wasn’t ready to give it up. I could hear them fighting in the dark. By the time I got up to them I put a second round in it. Not sure I would have found the second one without my dogs.

A good night for (almost) everyone involved...

You knocked down two and the dogz saw some action.

There have been many no nights I’ve wished for access to a good hound to track a hog that made it to the brush.

The story is a good reminder you don’t need to have access to thermal optics or even night vision to dump hogs at night.

Nice hunt! Action and success, you can't complain about that. Nice dogs too. When I was a teen, we had one that was colored like your brown dog. He was a great pet, but we didn't hunt back then.
