FB_IMG_1551985191614.jpg New member here from Tennessee. I'm an English transplant (10 years) so I'll pre-apologise if my sense of humor makes no sense!
I do the bulk of my pigging here in the Southeast; Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia & Florida, but I really got into hog hunting in west Texas. I've hunted with everything but a compound bow. Longbows, rifles & pistols, spear, knife & dogs.
I'm still trying to break the 200 pound mark, but there's one out there waiting for me!IMG_0575.jpg 20180725_205140.jpg

This Alabama swamp moose is my biggest to date. I couldn't tell you the live weight, I had to debone & pack the rascal 2 miles out of the woods, but I got 76lb of clean meat + liver out of it. I'm a pretty damn thorough butcher though. I'd guess maybe 160 live? Most of the critters around here don't get much over 100.

Welcome to the fray. If you keep a soft (tailor's) tape measure with you and measure the girth (pulled tight) around the chest, there's a means of being pretty close as to the animal's weight. Another may chime in with the details.

Longbow, a man after my own heart.
