My father in law just bought a pts536 for a BM450 and it wont sight in for crap. Elevation is good but its still 12" L with the adjustment maxed out. Also the crosshairs are to the left on the eyepiece not centered. Any ideas?

My advice is that if the rifle has been mounted with other scopes previously and everything worked well, then to try remounting the scope. Take it all apart and start over from scratch, paying attention that nothing gets in the way and that everything seats properly. Have more than one shooter test setup.

The crosshairs are so far left inside the scope because you are chasing the left POI. Most of the thermal scopes allow the crosshairs to move inside the scope for zeroing and hence will not remain in the exact center.

Why so far off? Several possibilities.

1. Scope improperly mounted.
A. Scope mount not on rail properly for some reason. (try remounting the scope, maybe in a different slot)
B. Scope not properly on its mount
i. Mount mismade
ii. Holes tapped wrong in scope (ATNs had this issue with original X-Sights)
2. Scope rail not aligned with barrel (or barrel not aligned with rail, same difference)
3. Scope is goobered-up.
4. Shooter has issues.

Sweet thanks! The mount was already on the unit, unlike my pulsar where I got to install it. This is the 1st scope on a new 450 he bought. Its consistant and shoots 1.5-2" groups all in the same spot, just way left. We disassembled the rifle went over it and cleaned it up then remounted the scope. While it was off i noticed some raised inpressions where it looks like 2 pins were hit in to secure a V shape rail to the sight. I smoothed them and put back on the qd mount. He will try it out tomorrow. Thanks!

While you've got it off and zeroing, you might want to blue loctite the mount screws. On my ADM/Zeus model there are 4 total. 2 you see on the bottom and another two after you get the first two out. Probably not your issue now but kinda sux when they do come come loose.
