Terrible thermal conditions

Was totally surprised by this sounder about 6:45 last night. I had just got out of my truck and set up my tripod for scanning and they were right there about 70yds away! I kept hoping they'd settle down in front of me but they would move every time I started to shoot. I have watched the video over and over and thought I got at least 3 or 4 hits but only found a 150lb sow and 200lb boar. Went back this morning but didn't find any more. The tall grass and rolling terrain don't show up due to the humid conditions but it was bad. The sow was DRT and I'm not even sure which shot hit the boar but he ran quite some distance. Lucky to have found him. Conditions were so bad I had a devil of a time deciding exactly where I started shooting! Still don't know how I missed that last loner.

Those are some tough conditions for being able to see what you're doing. Two confirmed is a good night for that night.

Those were some lousy looking conditions for thermal, good work getting the ones you did!

I know they’re a pain in the ass to endure and film, but these are my favorite videos to watch.

MUCH more realistic then the usual videos of shooting snowballs on black tar paper.

Breath control, hog anatomy and trigger discipline are much more critical in these situations.

Congratulations.
