At dark I went to one of my feeders with the plan to kill a raccoon early and then move to a feeder that has had all the hog activity. Well the plan was working great as I killed a coon just after dark with my 17 HMR.
I then walked to the other feeder. I stalked up close and noticed that the hogs didn’t wait for me to get set up. I think the bigger ones picked up that I was there. I took a knee and turned on my green light on my rifle. The feeder also has a green light but it isn’t as bright. Shot one on each side of the feeder and then one ran in front of me looking for the other pigs. It went down also. All was well. Three down. I SURE LOVE THE AR.
I walked back to camp to get the UTV. When I was driving back I drove up on two more so I jumped out and grabbed my rifle from the back and dropped a fourth. Crazy fun night. All four were small but they were some of the hardest targets yet. These hogs need to figure out that I’m putting the corn and water out for the deer, not them.
